Catholic Schools Week 2026

Each year, Catholic Schools Week invites us to celebrate the gift of Catholic education and the strong community that makes St. Anthony of Padua School so special. Throughout the week, students will enjoy meaningful opportunities for prayer, service, learning, and celebration.

Catholic Schools Week 2026 Events

Sunday, January 25 is Parish Appreciation Day

*11:00AM MASS

Help us thank our greatest benefactors- the parishioners of St. Anthony Parish for their constant support of our school. Staff and students are encouraged to attend and participate in the 11:00 Mass. Students who dress for Mass in their full School Uniform will receive a voucher for a BONUS Dress Down Day (on Tuesday 2/3/26).  

*Noon to 1:00pm OPEN HOUSE

Immediately following the Mass; Teachers will be in the classrooms for this one-hour event. We welcome parishioners to see the great work they are supporting. Families who want a sneak peek at next year’s classroom are welcome. Room Parents and NJHS students will give tours to prospective families.

Monday, Jan. 26 is Office & Maintenance Appreciation Day

Celebrating the people who keep the whole school running like a well-oiled machine. Their work beyond the classroom ensures every student’s experience is a great one. Class-made tributes will be presented to support staff at a catered lunch in Conference Room 116.  

 

Student Council Spirit theme for Monday is “Cultural Heritage.” Students are invited to wear a full outfit or an article of clothing that represents their family’s origins.

 

Tuesday, January 27 is Parent Appreciation Day 

We know that our top supporters and biggest fans are our parents.  To show our appreciation for the trust placed in us every day, the staff will have a surprise treat for all parents during morning drop-off.

Student Council Spirit theme for Tuesday is “Twins” (start coordinating now to wear 

a matching outfit with one or more of your friends).

 

Wednesday, January 28 is Teacher Appreciation Day 

The PTO has planned a delicious lunch and surprises for classroom teachers and assistants on behalf of all families. Thank you for your generous support of this effort.

 

Student Council Spirit theme for Wednesday is “Wild West vs. Luau” (pick a sideand dress in either your best cowboy/cowgirl costume OR go all out on the tropical Hawaiian side. No crocs or flips flops).

 

Thursday, January 29 is Student Appreciation Day 

Our students are what Catholic Education is all about. They are our future and our hope. To show how much we love our students, everyone will enjoy a special Oreo buffet at the end of their regular lunch time as well as a Glow in the Dark Party. This is a no homework day for all students! 

 

Students will also be treated to a visit by Marymount University professor Dr. Nicci Dowd, author of the children’s book: “The Story of Maj”.  Dr. Dowd will discuss her inspiration and writing process, while inspiring our students to see themselves as authors too. Families are welcome to preorder a copy of the book if you would like it to be signed by the author during her visit.  "The Story of Maj is a delightful tale that leaves a lasting impression. Its timeless message, coupled with its engaging narrative and stunning illustrations, makes it a perfect addition to any child's bookshelf. It is a story that highlights the importance of imagination and the value of friendship."

Student Council Spirit theme for Thursday is “Favorite Sports Team” (show your team pride with a sweatshirt or jersey of any Cougar team sport, or any college or professional sports team).

Friday, January 30 is Clergy Appreciation Day 

There will be a special presentation at the end of our regular school Mass to honor our Pastor and Parochial Vicars for all they do to make our school a faith-filled and joyous place to learn and grow.  Each class will create gifts to show our gratitude for their prayers and example.

 

There will be an 11:30 Dismissal on this day, with the option for Regular or Drop-In Extended Day.

Student Council Spirit theme for Friday is “Crazy Hats." Students must wear the required Mass Day uniform. Crazy hats will only be worn in the school, before and after Mass.
